Kuvera B touches down with Legs Akimbo Records once more with the mysteriously titled "0014#xxxx", which is - surprisingly - more of a detailed title than the last effort for the label.
And truth be known, this release is also a more detailed effort from the artist.
Where his last effort focused on kick drums and crafting a whole affair out of them, it seemed, "0014#xxxx" spends a little more time crafting a more wholistic approach - but only slightly. Kick drums are still a prominent focal point, subtle and caressing at times while menacing and garbled and offensive at others. A more pronounced intuitiveness rears its gloriously ugly head in the whole of the percussion department on this one, with the gaps between the drums being filled in by horrendously gorgeous noise and atmosphere work. This is still, like the previous effort for Legs Akimbo, a decidedly stripped down exercise, but a great deal more depth is employed throughout.
If a minimal techno producer snorted a line of dust off the back of a beast from the bowels of hell and then wrote an industrial record, this would be it. This isn't catchy cute girls in alien costume music, this is queens from the depths unleashing their wrath on the world music. Cold, confrontational, warm, engaging. - JDecker (Grindthieves)
